This Chocolate Mousse with a special ingredient is a creamy, indulgent treat that’s as healthy as it is delicious. The velvety mousse, made with rich raw cacao powder and naturally sweetened with maple syrup, is the perfect balance of chocolatey goodness and smooth texture, thanks to the ripe avocado. Topped with sweetened thawed strawberries, this dessert has a beautiful contrast of rich chocolate and juicy, fresh fruit that adds a refreshing burst of flavor. It’s a guilt-free, nutrient-packed treat that's perfect for a quick dessert or a satisfying snack, with no added sugars and all the goodness of whole ingredients.
Chocolate Avocado Mousse
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados (peeled and pitted)
1/4 cup maple syrup (adjust to sweetness preference)
1/4 cup raw cacao powder like Navitas Organic Cacao Powder (unsweetened and adjust to sweetness preference)
3 tbsp water (to adjust consistency)
Topping:
1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed
1-2 tbsp maple syrup (for sweetening the strawberries)
Instructions:
Prepare the Avocados:
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
Make the Mousse:
Add the maple syrup, raw cacao powder, and water to the blender or food processor.
Blend until smooth and creamy. If the mousse is too thick, add more water a little at a time to reach your desired consistency.
Sweeten the Strawberries:
Place the thawed frozen strawberries in a small bowl and drizzle with maple syrup. Toss gently to coat, and let them sit for a few minutes to absorb the sweetness.
Chill the Mousse:
Transfer the mousse to serving cups or bowls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let it firm up and chill.
Serve:
Once chilled, top the mousse with the sweetened strawberries. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Note: Because this mousse contains fresh avocados, it’s best enjoyed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, but be aware that the taste may change slightly as it sits.
