French Toast
A comforting dish – fluffy and crisp French toast, made with buttery brioche, topped generously with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a healthy glug of dark maple syrup, makes this dish both decadent and casual.
Ingredients:
For Custard:

3 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup 35% whipping cream/heavy cream

1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
For Cooking:

4-6 slices brioche

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp avocado oil (for additional crispness)
For Serving:

Fresh raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries

Whipped cream (whipping cream, cinnamon, sugar)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare the Custard:

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream and vanilla extract. Ensure the mixture is fully combined and smooth.

Prepare the Bread:

In a single layer submerge brioche slices into the custard, allowing it to soak for a total of 2 minutes.

Heat the Pan:

In a large skillet or griddle, heat 1 tablespoon of butter and oil over medium-low heat until melted.

Cook the French Toast:

Place the brioche slices onto the heated skillet. Cook on medium-low for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp. Flip the bread carefully with a spatula to avoid breaking the slices.
